Travel Snapshots, Squared

These landscapes in gouache are painted in a square format to reference the favored look of an experience on Instagram. Instead of being instantly captured with the click of a mobile phone camera, these are painted over the course of many hours, days or even weeks of direct observation, with the understanding that the environments seeps in. A reference photograph appropriately cropped is used in tandem to get these travel snapshots squared.
