Walking in the woods, looking at mushrooms
I have been walking the woods, stopping often to look at mushrooms. The way it rains around here, it’s one of the best things I can do.
This summer in Ithaca, the weather has taken on an erratic pattern of alternating rain and sunshine, most often with no gray lulls between sun and storm. All it takes is one clap of thunder to plunge us underwater. Afterwards, the sun appears unimpeded, and soon the day is a sunny one just like the one before it. Joyfully, I never know when I’ll come home sopping wet. Summer is the best time to be amphibious. (more…)
